Celebrate America’s 250th with THE GUNS OF LIBERTY

I’m excited to share the cover for my new Revolutionary War novel, THE GUNS OF LIBERTY. Artist Steve Paschal painted this exciting scene exclusively for this book and you can almost smell the black powder smoke as Caleb Cole takes aim with his Pennsylvania Long Rifle.

Speaking of Caleb Cole, that’s the main character of the story set against the backdrop of the Philadelphia Campaign of 1777. In the story, Caleb will need all his skill with a rifle to defeat a Redcoat marksman and help turn the tide of battle. Not only is the villain a crack shot, he’s the kind of Redcoat you will love to hate. Caleb’s adventures will take him to the Cooch’s Bridge and Brandywine battlefields, Valley Forge, and the Battle of Monmouth.

I’m doing something new and different for this novel, which is to offer a special hardcover edition using a Kickstarter campaign. (Kickstarter is a platform that enables people like artists, musicians, and authors to seek support for their creative projects.) The book will be available for a limited time as a hardcover edition with a colorful dust jacket. All the books will be autographed and will make wonderful keepsakes for the 250th celebration this year. Also, you can order a personalized copy that makes a perfect gift for the booklover in your life—or even for yourself.

If the hardcover is more than you want or need, that’s OK, you can order a “signed” version of the ebook for your Kindle or favorite ebook device.

Whether you order it in hardcover or as an ebook, the Kickstarter campaign will be the only way to order books for now. The goal is to deliver your signed hardcover or ebook right around the Fourth of July.

I’ve really enjoyed researching and writing this rather long novel (92,000 words) and wanted to make it special by offering it as a hardcover, with original artwork and a map, just in time for America’s 250th. If you’d like a truly special copy of the novel—and I hope you will—then please order it through the Kickstarter site by early June. As always, your support is deeply appreciated!
